Outdoor Diva Hannah Stewart
Her beauty, strength, intelligence and adventurous spirit is why I see my dear friend and fellow mermaid Dr. Hannah Stewart as an outdoor diva.
Always bright eyed and up for anything, Hannah works as a Marine Biologist in beautiful Friday Harbor, WA. She spends most of her days underwater researching marine ecology in beautiful places as varied as the Bahamas, French Polynesia, coastal California and now the seas near British Columbia. Her research was recently covered by National Geographic Kids
Although she claims she "doesn't like gravity," she is also a skilled surfer, a varsity athlete soccer player and avid bike commuter, and still manages to pick up new sports with such ease and funfilled grace. She has most recently mastered telemarking Colorado's peaks and last but not least, kicks butt as captain playing center in a Women's Hockey League, true to her Canadian roots.
She is singlehandedly introducing the Mountain Hardwear brand to the islands of Washington State, by looking ever so fabulous in her Mountain Hardwear gear whether in town or at sea and on the slopes. She is constantly praising the performance of Mountain Hardwear's windstopper soft shell jackets when out to sea, and uses the waterproof gloves for handling dive gear on the boat.
Her Downtown coat is her favorite outdoor piece because it keeps her warm from her head down to her knees. She even boasts of bringing only the jacket on overnights and using it as a sleeping bag. She considers herself a Mountain Hardwear field tester/model. No doubt her lifestyle pushes the gear's performance, while making it look its best.
It's always hard to keep up with her, especially under water. Hannah is the most inspiring mermaid I ever met. In fact the only mermaid I've had the pleasure to know.
