Ueli and Freddie are holed up in Periche waiting for the weather to clear. The two are en route to a series of climbs of 6,000 and 7,000 peaks in the Khumbu region.

Freddie writes:

“The weather has been a bit pretty stormy of late — which makes us appreciate our home-away-from-home basecamp de-lux, the Mountain Guide’s Lodge in Pheriche. A good teahouse always keeps the stove going… with the abundance of cozy lodges in the Khumbu, we predict that in the years to come, Everest basecamp will be rendered obsolete. Tomorrow, it’s off to Lobuche Peak on our first acclimatization mission of the trip.”
